Tomáš Berdych is a famous Czech professional tennis player. He was born on September 17, 1985 in Valašské Meziříčí, Czech Republic. He is the son of Martin Berdych and Hana Berdychová. He started playing tennis when he was at the age of five at a tennis centre in his home town. After starting his career in tennis soon he became a top junior when he won the Czech Republic U-12 Junior Title. In the 2010 Wimbledon Championships he reached the finals which was his notable achievement after defeating top seed and six-time champion Roger Federer in the quarter-finals and World No. 3 Novak Djokovic in the semifinals. In the 2010 French Open he also qualified for the semifinals by defeating fourth seed Andy Murray in straight sets in the fourth round. In the 2012 US Open he defeated World No. 1 Roger Federer at the quarter-final stage and became the second tennis player who defeated the World No. 1 Roger Federer multiple times in Grand Slam. He is one of the few tennis players who have reached the quarter-finals of all four Grand Slams. In 2005 he won the Paris Masters by defeating the Croatian player Ivan Ljubičić. He has reached the finals of the Miami Masters in 2010 and the Madrid Open in 2012, losing to Andy Roddick and Roger Federer. In August 2013 he reached the career-high singles ranking of Wolrd No. 5.
He was in long term relationship with tennis player Lucie Šafářová for nine years. They ended their relationship in 2011. He started dating model Ester Satorova in the fall of 2011.
