She was born on July 22, 1992 in Grand Prairie, Texas, U.S. She is the daughter of Amanda Dawn “Mandy” Teefey and Ricardo Joel Gomez. Her mother was a former stage actress. Her parents were divorced when she was at the age of five. After the divorce of her parents she was raised as an only child by her mother. She started her professional acting career when she earned her first role in 2002 when she was selected for a role in the children’stelevision series Barney and Friends. She appeared in the total of 16 episodes of the Barney and Friends. After first role in the television series Barney and Friends she made her appearance in the film Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over in 2003 which was her first film debut. After her first film she started modeling and appeared in several commercials. In 2005 she did a cameo role in the television film Walker, Texas Ranger: Trial by Fire. She later made her appearance in the Disney series The Suite Life of Zack and Cody in 2006.
In 2007 she made her appearance in the three episodes of the Disney series Hannah Montana. She later appeared in the Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place in which she played the lead role of Alex Russo for which she earned awards and nominations.
