According to the reporter Paul Walker was at an event for his charity Reach Out Worldwide for fundraising to benefit victims of Typhoon Haiyan, when he decided to take the car out for the drive. Unluckily he was the passenger in the super-car and the driver of the vehicle was a former car racer Roger Rodes who was also his friend and his financial adviser. It was not so far from the place where the fundraising ceremony was taking place when his car spun out of control and hit the pole and turned into a fireball. People rushed to the crash scene to put the flames out but it was too late… According to the Sheriff’s Department, speed was the factor in the crash and the bodies were so badly burned, so it will take time to be positively identified.

The victims of the car crash were good friends and they had been racing for several years which led Roger Rodas to become Paul Walker’s financial adviser. Roger Rodas had also helped Walker to establish his Reach Out Worldwide charity. Roger Rodas also owned his own foundation to support widows and orphans in his native El Salvador. Roger Rodas was also the CEO of Always Evolving, the car customization shop where Saturday’s charity event had been taking place.
