Dolly Rebecca Parton better known as Dolly Parton is a famous American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, actress, author, and philanthropist. She was born on January 19, 1946 in Sevierville, Tennessee, United States. She is well known for her work in the country music. She started her career as a child ferformer. She rose to fame in 1967 as a singer on the weekly television program when she sung her first single The Last Thing on My Mind which was a top ten hit on the singles charts. In 1977 she moved to pop music for which she released her first pop single Here You Come Again which was very successful on the country pop charts. She returned to country music in 1990s. She has composed over 3000 songs and she well known with an estimated 100 million in record sales. She has also appeared in several movies including: 9 to 5, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Rhinestone, Steel Magnolias, Gnomeo & Juliet, Straight Talk, Unlikely Angel, and Joyful Noise.
