Brad Pitt (William Bradley Pitt) was born in 18 December 1963 (age 49) in Shawnee, Oklahoma, US. By profession Brad Pitt is an American actor and film producer. He has received 4 Academy Awards nominations and 5 Golden Globe Awards and won one Golden Globe Award. Brad Pitt has been describes as one of the world’s attractive man and has received substantial media attention.
Brad Pitt is the son of Jane Etta (née Hillhouse) and William Alvin Pitt. His mother was a high school counselor and father was a truck company owner. Pitt has stated that his family consists of Irish Scots Germans who settled in the area.
Pitt attended Kickapoo High School. He participated in the school’s Key and Forensics clubs, in school debates. He was also the member of the golf, swimming, tennis and wrestling teams. Than in 1982, he enrolled in the University of Missouri, majoring in journalism with a focus on advertising. He also acted in several fraternity shows and loved to do a film but faced problems as the films were not made in Missouri, he decided to move where they were made. Before getting his degree, Pitt left the university and moved to LA and started acting lessons and did odd jobs.
While struggling to establish his career in L.A, Brad Pitt did odd jobs and took lessons from acting coach Roy London and his television debut came in May 1987 with a two-episode role on the NBC soap opera Another World. Brad Pitt started his onscreen career in 1987 in the film (No way Out, No Man’s Land and Less Than Zero). Later in 1988, he made a guest appearance on the Fox police drama “Jump Street”.
Pitt got his first film lead role in the same year 1988 in “The Dark Side of the Sun” in released in 1997. In the same year 1988 he made his appearance in a supporting role in “Happy Together” and a 2nd featured role in a horror film Cutting Class.
Pitt took the role of Paul Maclean in the 1992 biographical film “A river Runs Through it” directed by Robert Redford. His performance in “A River Runs Through it” called carrier making performance.
In 1993, Brad Pitt made his debut in a road film “Kalifornia” reuniting with Juliette Lewis.
Critical Success in Hollywood:
In 1994, a significant turn came in Pitt’s career.
In 1999, Pitt portrayed Tyler Durden in Fight Club based on Chuck Palahniuk’s novel directed by David Fincher. In 2000 Pitt worked in a gangster film Snatch. Pitt did two major films in 2004, in Troy as Achilles and second appearance in Ocean’s Twelve as Rusty Ryan. He spent six months for sword training before the film of Troy.
Pitt’s next appearance was in the 2008 comedy Burn After Reading, first collaboration with Coen Brothers. His next role was as a hit man Jackie Cogan in Andrew Dominik’s “Killing Them Softly”. The film was released in the US on November 30, 2012.
In early 1990, Pitt was involved in several of his co-stars. Than in 1998 Pitt met Jennifer Aniston and married her on 29, 2000. Their wedding was considered a rare Hollywood success but in January 2005, they announced that they had decided to separate after seven years and divorced on 2 October 2005. During divorce with Aniston, his involvement with Angelina Jolie attracted media attention. On January 11, 2006 Angelina Jolie confirmed that she is pregnant with Brad Pitt’s child. After seven years together Pitt and Angelina announced their engagement in April 2012.
